Production Process
Buffing and grinding booth for handling steel, copper, and brass dust, along with small airborne particles of catalyzed epoxy.
Problem
Airborne dust accumulates in the workspace, requiring daily manual cleanup. Potential concerns with abrasiveness, stickiness, and efficient removal of dust particles.

Process description

Buffing and grinding booth

Forklift or hoist lift into booth to do buffing and grinding

Volume flow (cfm or m3/h) and temperature of the gas and dust flow entering the treatment.

12,000-15,000 cfm

Characteristics of object emissions:

- concentration of dust at the inlet to the gas cleaning (ppm or mg);

- the size of the captured particles and distribution by fractions, granulometry;

- name and concentration of harmful gases at the gas cleaning inlet (ppm or mg);

- the required degree of purification at the outlet of the dust and gas cleaning equipment.

- Temperature of gases and dust

Air tools or electric hand tools, concentration of dust is not too heavy, just hangs in the air and covers the floor when it settles. It is currently swept up daily after use.

Small airborne particles of catalyzed epoxy and steel, copper or brass dust which are heavier and fall quickly.

Working temperature is around 70 degrees inside and whatever weather temperature is for dust hopper outside.

Physical properties:

• angle of repose;

• hygroscopicity;

• stickiness;

• abrasiveness;

• flammability;

• explosiveness

Friction heated particles of epoxy dust may be sticky, not too sure. It does not stick to the floor once settled. We have never had a problem with explosiveness or flammability. Particles can be quite abrasive.

Operating mode of the equipment (continuous/intermittent).

Equipment should be operated continuously when needed

Proposed placement of the newly developed dust and gas cleaning system outside the production facility, dimensions of the facility).

Not sure, typically I think it goes into a bag or catch of some sort at the bottom of the hopper and is manually removed once full

Requirements for explosion and fire safety

Not sure, that would be rules of local governing body

The need for recirculation of purified air (return of purified air to the working area).

I don’t think so – just removal of the dust

If you cannot use this one, for example by splitting the flow into two, please let me know and I will request a new drawing for 15000 CFM, which would be two such modules side by side. I would also like to clarify the amount of dust in the air; how much do you anticipate there will be? When can I expect your response?
