Dust Collector Description

The Torch Compact series filters with flat smooth pockets are an economical option for addressing various aspiration tasks. They are monolithic semi-automatic intermittent action bag filters with a filtering surface area ranging from 60 to 500 ft² and mechanical shaking of the filter elements.

For filter regeneration, periodic fan shutdown is required. The filter is used to purify air or gases from various types of dry, bulk, non-sticking dust. They can be placed both indoors and outdoors.
No compressed air connection required

How It Works

Contaminated air, drawn by the suction created by the exhaust fan of the ventilation system, enters the filtering chamber through the inlet duct. Inside, the air flow is evenly distributed and passes through the bag filter. Dust particles settle on the surface of the bag filter material. The cleaned air then passes through the "clean" chamber and is discharged from the filter through the outlet duct.

As the filter operates, the dust layer on the bag filter's surface thickens, increasing its resistance, which in turn causes a rise in air pressure within the filtering chamber. This pressure differential is registered by a differential manometer (provided upon request).

For the filter to maintain functionality, regeneration is required. Bag filters are cleaned by shaking. The shaking mechanism is powered by an electric motor.

Bag filter cleaning is regulated and controlled by a controller embedded in the control cabinet. The primary cleaning mode is activated every 2 hours and lasts 90 seconds.

Additionally, a feature is provided to initiate the cleaning process based on pressure differential. The pressure relay, located in the control cabinet, records the pressure differential value. Between main cleaning cycles, when reaching 1000 Pa, it activates an additional cleaning mode.

Manual cleaning is the forced initiation of cleaning from a button located on the control cabinet. Manual cleaning resets the main cycle timer.

As a result of shaking, the dust separated from the bag surfaces falls into a bunker for dust unloading and then collected in a dust collector. A sliding gate allows for cleaning of the dust collector without stopping the filter.

Dimensions

Baghouse Design

Filters are metallic assembly installations composed of:
  • A filtration module, available in various sizes and types;
  • A semi-automatic system for regenerating filtration elements;
  • A dust discharge hopper;
  • A dust collector for gathering dust;
  • A support structure to attach the filtration module. A receiving hopper with an inlet duct for uncleaned gas is mounted on this structure.
The filtration element (pocket filter) consists of flat smooth pockets made from a special woven filtration material. These pockets are sewn together at the top and are fitted onto a metallic frame.
Depending on specific operational conditions, filters can be equipped with additional structural elements, devices, and accessories. For instance, a screw conveyor for dust discharge, thermal insulation of the body, a hopper heating system, and so on.

Flat Filter Bags

Filter elements consist of flat, smooth pockets made of woven material, sewn together at the top to form a single piece. Inside each pocket, there's a framework made of a metal mesh stretched over a rectangular frame made of metal rod.

Bag Regeneration

To maintain the air permeability of the filter fabric, it needs to be regularly cleaned of dust. For this purpose, the filter pocket is shaken using a rod connected to an electric motor located outside the filter chamber. Once the motor is activated, a reciprocating motion is transmitted to the rod with a comb through an eccentric mechanism. When shaken, the dust that has settled on the surface of the filter pocket is separated and falls down, settling in the hopper.
Regeneration requires periodic stopping of the filter. The operating cycle is about 2 hours, with the shaking duration being 90 seconds (factory setting, adjustable parameter). During regeneration, the air flow through the filter must be stopped. This can be achieved by installing a special control unit on the filter, which, before starting the shaking motor by manually pressing the regeneration start button, stops the fan, and after the run-out time starts the shaking motor.
After the regeneration process, the control unit automatically stops the shaking and starts the fan until the next press of the regeneration start button. In the standard version, the filter is not equipped with a fan, so the control unit only provides manual start and automatic stop of the shaking motor.
