The Vortex Vibro BIG is a universal closed-type baghouse equipped with a filter bag vibrational cleaning system. It has major air efficiency. The modular design allows the efficiency of the device to increase as modules are added. It’s suitable for dust collection both inside a facility and outside. It’s very simple to control and maintain.

How It Works

How does a Vortex Vibro BIG work
Contaminated air enters Blizzard through an air pipe (or a gas pipe) into the dirty chamber, after which the dust particles settle onto the bags while the cleaned air passes through the bags and enters into the clean chamber, after which it exits the filter outside with the help of a fan or goes back into the facility.


The performance specification depends on the package elements. We create each project customized for the client bases on a detailed questionnaire on their industrial site and the nature of the dust.

A baghouse can be implemented in nontypical form depending on the client’s technical task.

Modifications, Size, and Drawings

A modification is a filter variation with a different quantity of modules. Adding modules entails a change in general performance, filtered air volume, dimensions, and other specifications.

The Vortex Vibro BIG filter consists of one or multiple modules

The recommended performance of a single module is no more than 7500 cfm. In order to increase the performance, it is required to install additional modules (see example in drawing below).

A filter can optionally be designed with non-typical dimensions depending on the client’s technical task.


Baghouse Design

Gas movement scheme inside and outside of the filter
  1. Contaminated air enters from the bottom, then the gas passes into the dirty air chamber up toward the filter bags.
  2. While moving along the filter bag, the air becomes cleaned while the dust particles remain on the surface of the bag.
  3. The cleaned air is extracted from the filter outside or back into the facility.
Such a direction of air movement ensures a more even wear on the filter bags while also ensuring the filter installation’s bulkiness, which saves space in the production site and allows a filter installation to be installed in direct proximity with the technological equipment.

Round Filter Bags

The delivery package for Vortex vibro BIG includes round bags out of a woven material imposed on a metallic frame.

Steel reels are sewn into the filter bags, which increases the shaking amplitude in the regeneration process.

The round filter bags with vibrational cleaning withstand a dust load of up to 50 ppm.
The bags can be manufactured out of the following materials: polyester, Met-Aramid, PPS, and material with an anti-static effect. The filter bag material is selected on a case-by-case basis in accordance with the technical task.

Contaminated Air Entry: the Damper Plate

Our filter construction saves our clients money on getting to replace bags less often. A dust chamber is installed in front of the filters so that the dust settles right down into the hopper and reduces the wear on the bags.

The damper plate helps with a more even distribution of the gas flow along all the filter bags. This extends the service life of the filters and improves air cleaning, since the load on the bags is even and that allows for operational cost savings.

The Dust Hopper and Unloading It

In the standard package, Vortex vibro BIG has a conical accumulator hopper for dust and a round gate with a manual gear for opening and closing or a box on wheels.

  • A vibrator or a vibration device to prevent dust from sticking on the walls of the hopper.
  • Installation of a hopper under every module as well as optional design of a single large one, which will be the destination of unloading from all the modules.
  • Level transmitter.
  • Hoppers and supports according to the demands of your production site. For instance, for wood processing enterprise client of ours, we tailored the hopper for big bag unloading.
  • The hopper under the bag with a worm for uninterrupted unloading of the hopper from dust with a gate. Thus, the filter won't have to be stopped to unload the accumulated dust.

Captured Product Unloading

Unloading organization methods for the client to choose from:

  • The basic package features use of the manual method, which is done using a manual hatch which when opened manually and the dust unloads out of the dust aggregator into some volume or, when dust falls into a connected volume (box) without a hatch.
  • The automated method uses a gate or double dump, often along with a worm transporter.
The main distinction is manual labor which must be exerted to unload the captured product. The automated method can be combined with a production line and, for instance, the product can be returned back onto a conveyor belt.

Baghouse Management

Smart control automation ensures uninterrupted operation

Filter control is performed using a controller or a remote control. This system works in a closed cycle, but it can be reconfigured depending on the client's needs.
We propose packaging the filter with a completely automatic control system, analysis, fire extinguishing, etc. In the standard package, a temporary controller is installed and it can also be packaged with a Siemens controller depending on your needs.

Vibration Cleaning Filter System

Gradually, the internal portions of the bags become covered in dust, which increases the filter’s resistance. In order to prevent the resistance from getting too high, the filter elements must be cleaned every once in a while.
Vortex vibro BIG is equipped with a built-in vibrational cleaning mechanism. Vibrational cleaning of the dusty bags can be performed using periodic vibration. For that purpose, a vibration slab with a vibrating board is installed in the body of the filter.
The bags are shaken automatically based on a timer via specified time intervals. The length and period of the vibrational shaking are set independently via a controller installed on the vibration filter frame. The cleaning system doesn't have to be stopped for the filter bags to be cleaned.
The vibration motor shakes the planks which the filter bags are attached to. The dust settled on the bags falls into the hopper or other dust discharge system, which the filter is packaged with and is extracted by the dust discharge system customized for the specific filter.
