BOREAS-P1 Horizontal Wet Scrubber

Spray Tower

  • Cleans up to 99,9% waste, dust, flue and exhaust gases, depending on the level of pollution

    Wet Scrubber BOREAS-P1 Description

The cleaning system in “BOREAS-P1” wet scrubber is based on mass-exchange processes in a hollow horizontal column. It's the most straightforward, popular wet scrubber with a full construction and liquid watering system.
It is designed for cleaning gases of dust, chemical elements, and smoke and is more suited for small concentrations of contaminations.
There is a stepwise droplet collection system at the gas’ exit from the wet scrubber.
The advantage of the horizontal scrubber is the little amount of space it takes up and how easy it is to maintain.
    Straightforward maintenance and operation
The wet scrubber’s design is done is such a way that maintenance via hatches and doors takes a minimal amount of time
Produced from different types of steel and plastic
We select the material depending on the chemical contents of the gas and the gas’ temperature. Stainless steel or carbon steel. Polypropylene plastic, polyethylene, PVDF, etc.
    Optional unconventional design
The design, size, and productivity level can be modified depending on the client's wishes. It comes with a broad selection of additional package elements.

Improved Design for Customized Tasks From the Client

Modular Design is Our Main Area of Expertise

Increase efficiency by way of adding an additional filter module.
Large-node, bolt-mounted assembly is performed based on instructions like when assembling furniture. No welding or complex manipulations necessary.
Thanks to the modular design, delivering the filter doesn't require any special transportation and takes less time.
    Quick efficiency modernization
    Quick and easy installation
    Quick and easy transportation

Smart Design: High Quality, Efficient Air Cleaning

    Low aerodynamic resistance
The well-thought-out design of the filter facilitates the passage of a large air flow to be cleaned.
Dust load of up to 3 ppm
To increase the dust load, a cyclone will have to be placed in front of the equipment.
Gas load of up to 0.5 ppm
There can optionally be more, but that will require size to be increased.
    High tolerance of fluctuating loads
Stability in maintaining a high level of cleaning, efficiency, and temperature variations over the course of the wet scrubber's operation.
    Minimal waste substances
The air cleaning process creates practically no waste. It doesn't get stopped up with a variety of substances. Furthermore, there is almost no water entrainment.

The Working Principle of Horizontal Scrubber BOREAS-P1

Presenting the mass-exchange section, pump, gas entry, fittings, droplet eliminator, cleaned gas exit, and circulation tank.

BOREAS-P1 features several layers of watering with the help of nozzles (from 1 to 5 depending on the performance level). Contaminated gas enters into the entry nozzle chamber where it is watered with liquid (water or a solution) both in and against the direction of the gas. This has a positive effect on the mass-exchange processes and increases the degree that the liquid comes in contact with the contamination.

Then the contaminated air with moisture enters the droplet eliminators where the air is separated from the heterogenous fraction of the water. The water passes through and leaves the wet scrubber. The liquid component enters the recirculation tank where it is separated from the debris. The liquid is subsequently fed back into the wet scrubber along the circulation system and is reused.

    Specifications

The Specifications depend on the package elements. For each client, we create a project based on a detailed survey about the production site and the nature of the dust and contaminations.
Each filter can optionally be designed in a non-standard execution, depending on the technical task of the client.

    Modifications, Size, and Charts

A modification is a filter variation with a different quantity of modules. Adding modules entails a change in general performance, filtered air volume, size, and other technical specifications. BOREAS-P1 consists of one or multiple modules.

The recommended performance of a single module is no more than 70000 cfm. In order to increase the performance, it is required to install additional modules (see example in drawing below).

A filter can optionally be designed with non-typical size depending on the client’s technical task.

    Controlling the Wet Scrubber

Variations of control equipment package elements
    1. Manual control: the most affordable and inexpensive method.
    2. Semiautomatic: control on a temporary relay, preparation of a solution, and manual pouring of the solution.
    3. Automatic, time-based control, or regulated cycle control, determined by the client. Automatic preparation and dosing of the reagent solution.
In the standard package, the wet scrubber is automated at a minimal level – with transmitter level, pump activation, and pH monitoring.
For a higher level of automation, we can offer you:
    • Automatic refilling and discharge of the reagent
    • Automatic reagent preparation
    • Automatic water activation/deactivation
    • Connecting the automatic contact to the controller and pH meter.
