Wet Scrubber Borei-P3 Description

“BOREAS-P3” packed-bed scrubber with a watering and multi-stage droplet elimination system design.
The purpose of the enlarged column is it provides for better cleaning. Furthermore, an additional ion-exchange cassette can be inserted.
This wet scrubber is designed for gas which requires a longer amount of time to clean and thus longer contact with liquid. Thus, the packings and droplet elimination chamber are enlarged in this “Boreas-P3” wet scrubber.
It is designed for more delicate multicomponent gas cleaning of contamination. The cleaning system is based on mass-exchange processes in the chamber filled with random packings such as, Raschig, Palia, Intalox, Torch-Air, and other rings.
Straightforward maintenance and operation
The wet scrubber’s design is done is such a way that maintenance via hatches and doors takes a minimal amount of time
Produced from different types of steel and plastic
We select the material depending on the chemical contents of the gas and the gas’ temperature. Stainless steel or carbon steel. Polypropylene plastic, polyethylene, PVDF, etc.
Optional unconventional design
The design, size, and productivity level can be modified depending on the client's wishes. It comes with a broad selection of additional package elements.

Improved Design for Customized Tasks From the Client

Modular Design is Our Main Area of Expertise

Increase efficiency by way of adding an additional filter module.
Large-node, bolt-mounted assembly is performed based on instructions like when assembling furniture. No welding or complex manipulations necessary.
Thanks to the modular design, delivering the filter doesn't require any special transportation and takes less time.
Quick efficiency modernization
Quick and easy installation
Quick and easy transportation

Smart Design: High Quality, Efficient Air Cleaning

Low aerodynamic resistance
The well-thought-out design of the filter facilitates the passage of a large air flow to be cleaned.
Dust load of up to 50 ppm
To increase the dust load, a cyclone will have to be placed in front of the equipment.
Gas load of up to 2 ppm
There can optionally be more, but that will require size to be increased.
High tolerance of fluctuating loads
Stability in maintaining a high level of cleaning, efficiency, and temperature variations over the course of the wet scrubber's operation.
Minimal waste substances
The air cleaning process creates practically no waste. It doesn't get stopped up with a variety of substances. Furthermore, there is almost no water entrainment.

Fundamental Distinctions From Other Models

-1-
Largest wet scrubber in the BOREAS series.
-2-
The ability to optionally insert an ion-exchange cassette as an additional level of cleaning.

  • Other spheres.

Substances Captured by the Gas Scrubber

Wet scrubber captures various dusts 0.1 µm in size or larger.
In order to capture smaller elements, we recommend various supplements, such as caustic soda etc. The supplements are selected on a case-by case basis depending on the air and gas mixture in the client's operation environment.

The Working Principle of BOREAS-P3

Gas under pressure (or anti-pressure) entering the horizontal wet scrubber “BOREAS-P3”. Nozzles are located along the pathway of the gas which water the air and gas mixture. Nozzles can be installed against the gas flow (if calculations have shown that one row of nozzles is insufficient). The watered air flow passes through the nozzle chamber which is where the most interesting and intense cleaning process takes place. The packing chamber's volume is larger than that of BOREAS-P2. It is designed this way so that the gas flow has more time for touching in the liquid phase, to clean it from an array of particular contaminations. It is in this chamber where the liquid is separated from the air.

The next stage is the ion-exchange cassette which with the help of a woven filter material finishes cleaning the gas flow. Unlike BOREAS-P2, in BOREAS-P3 a cassette installation is optional.

Then, the entire flow enters the multi-level droplet elimination system where water containing the contaminations is separated from the air and moved to the circulation tank. The air is then directed outside the wet scrubber. The liquid component at that point enters the recirculation tank where it is separated from the debris. The cleaned liquid is again fed into the wet scrubber along the circulation system and is reused.

Specifications

The Specifications depend on the package elements. For each client, we create a project based on a detailed survey about the production site and the nature of the dust and contaminations.
The filter can optionally be designed in a non-standard execution, depending on the technical task of the client.

Package

Additional package elements

We are always prepared to accommodate our clients and are willing to complement the standard package with any necessary functions, other characteristics, and any other parameters
FIRE EXTINGUISHING AND SAFETY
  • The explosion-proof design consists of the installation of explosion-proof equipment, additional grounding systems, IP 64 electricity, etc.
  • Fire extinguishing system.

• Conveyor belt for discharging the hard content.
You can choose any option based on the convenience of the wet scrubbers’ positioning:
1. Location of packing loading doors: you need to choose them to be on the side or at the top.
2. Gas flow: you need to indicate the most convenient location for cleaned air’s exit out of the wet scrubber: on the right or the left.

Modifications, Size, and Charts

A modification is a filter variation with a different quantity of modules. Adding modules entails a change in general performance, filtered air volume, size, and other technical specifications. BOREAS-P3 consists of one or multiple modules.

The recommended performance of a single module is no more than 23500 cfm. In order to increase the performance, it is required to install additional modules (see example in drawing below).

A filter can optionally be designed with non-typical size depending on the client’s technical task.

Controlling the Wet Scrubber

Variations of control equipment package elements
  1. Manual control: the most affordable and inexpensive method.
  2. Semiautomatic: control on a temporary relay, preparation of a solution, and manual pouring of the solution.
  3. Automatic, time-based control, or regulated cycle control, determined by the client. Automatic preparation and dosing of the reagent solution.
In the standard package, the wet scrubber is automated at a minimal level – with transmitter level, pump activation, and pH monitoring.
