Polypropylene Plating Barrels for Electroplating and Surface Treatment
Built for high-performance galvanizing, polypropylene plating barrels offer superior chemical resistance, heat tolerance, and reliable operation in corrosive industrial environments.
Purpose
We manufacture barrels of any type and size depending on the dimensions of the baths and the transport equipment of the customer's plating lines. Plating barrels are designed and manufactured based on the weight and size of the workpieces being processed. It can be adapted to automatic lines and barrel baths. We can manufacture models for manual suspension for non-automated lines or in a special technical execution according to the technical specifications of clients.
Design Customized for the Client's Objectives
Easy loading and unloading
Parts are conveniently inserted through the side loading hatch — fast and safe.
Reliable rotation drive
Rotation is transmitted via a gear mechanism, ensuring stable drum operation.
Flexible motor placement
The drive can be installed on the frame, carriage, or outside the bath — adaptable to any setup.
Versatile drum geometry
Prism-shaped drums with various side counts can be used to suit different parts.
Optimal electrolyte flow
Special wall perforation ensures consistent current flow and uniform electrolyte circulation.
Process fine-tuning
The operator can adjust process parameters based on production technologists' input.
Applications
Our equipment is designed for the application of both decorative and protective coatings, including nickel, zinc, cadmium, copper, and more. It also supports passivation and phosphating technologies. Plating barrels are specifically engineered for bulk processing of small, non-cohesive parts in electroplating operations. They are suitable for applying both metallic and non-metallic inorganic coatings. Perforated barrels are commonly used in processes such as:
The barrel can be designed with multiple sections to allow simultaneous coating of different types of parts. It features a high degree of perforation and a chemically resistant body, reinforced with structural ribs for added durability. Polypropylene barrels are available in hexagonal or octagonal prism shapes with perforated side walls, or as perforated cylinders. The perforations ensure effective current flow and unobstructed circulation of the electrolyte. Perforation size is specified in coordination with the customer.
Material of Manufacture
Material selection is based on the chemical composition of the working environment, temperature conditions, and overall operating requirements.
The following materials are used in the manufacturing of plating barrels: PP (Polypropylene): A cost-effective and chemically resistant material, ideal for most standard plating solutions. Suitable for operating temperatures up to +200 °F. PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride): Offers good resistance to acids and alkalis. Commonly used in applications with moderate temperatures and less aggressive chemicals. Temperature resistance up to +140 °F. PVDF (Polyvinylidene Fluoride): A high-performance polymer with excellent chemical and thermal resistance. Ideal for aggressive environments and elevated temperatures — up to +284 °F.
Specification
If desired by customers, plating barrels can be equipped with trolleys and frames, cathodic contacts, a set of anodes, electric motors, and gear reducers. Our company has the ability to provide clients with spare parts and replacement equipment: side panels, current leads, covers, etc.
