Wet Scrubber Description

The “TORNADO ST” scrubber with a hollow frame for non-sticking dust. The gas entry occurs tangentially, which allows the dust to be directed straight down into the hopper (water-setting tank). The cleaning system is based on mass-exchanging processes in a hollow column.
We produce both complexes and separate parts of the “TORNADO ST” complex. The "TORNADO ST” is designed for wet gas cleaning.
Straightforward maintenance and operation
The wet scrubber’s design is done is such a way that maintenance via hatches and doors takes a minimal amount of time
Produced from different types of steel and plastic
We select the material depending on the chemical contents of the gas and the gas’ temperature. Stainless steel or carbon steel. Polypropylene plastic, polyethylene, PVDF, etc.
Optional unconventional design
The design, size, and productivity level can be modified depending on the client's wishes. It comes with a broad selection of additional package elements.

Improved Design for Customized Tasks From the Client

Modular Design is Our Main Area of Expertise

Increase efficiency by way of adding an additional filter module.
Large-node, bolt-mounted assembly is performed based on instructions like when assembling furniture. No welding or complex manipulations necessary.
Thanks to the modular design, delivering the filter doesn't require any special transportation and takes less time.
Quick efficiency modernization
Quick and easy installation
Quick and easy transportation

Smart Design: High Quality, Efficient Air Cleaning

Low aerodynamic resistance
The well-thought-out design of the scrubber facilitates the passage of a large air flow to be cleaned.
Dust load of up to 3 ppm
To increase the dust load, a cyclone will have to be placed in front of the equipment.
Gas load of up to 0.5 ppm
There can optionally be more, but that will require size to be increased.
High tolerance of fluctuating loads
Stability in maintaining a high level of cleaning, efficiency, and temperature variations over the course of the wet scrubber's operation.
Minimal waste substances
The air cleaning process creates practically no waste. It doesn't get stopped up with a variety of substances. Furthermore, there is almost no water entrainment.

Fundamental Distinctions From Other Models

-1-
Highly efficient irrigation system.
-2-
Nozzles not subject to sludge stuffing
-3-
Labyrinth droplet eliminator.
-4-
The classical, most widespread vertical-type scrubber.
-5-
In comparing indicators, this type of scrubbers has much larger dimensions than other scrubbers with equal cleaning efficiency.

Substances Captured by the Gas Scrubber

Wet scrubber captures various dusts 0.1 µm in size or larger. The innovative TORNADO ST, designed for optimal performance, serves as an excellent wet scrubber for boiler applications, effectively enhancing the purification of flue gases.
In order to capture smaller elements, we recommend various supplements, such as caustic soda etc. The supplements are selected on a case-by case basis depending on the air and gas mixture in the client's operation environment.

The Working Principle of Spray Tower Scrubber

How does a TORNADO-ST work
The “TORNADO-ST” contains several irrigation layers (usually one, two, or three).
Contaminated gas enters its entry chamber tangentially. Meanwhile, while rotating, the gas also takes the accumulated liquid in the entry chamber into a rotary movement, some of which enters further along with the gas. Then, following up to meet the flow of fresh washing liquid, an intense mass-exchanging process begins between the gas and the liquid via irrigation. The irrigation system is organized based on the technical data of the cleaned gas and has an irrigation area required to create an effective gas-liquid mass-exchanging process.
The liquid phase (contaminated solution) flows in the circulation cavity for subsequent use or removal and the cleaned gas along with the removed liquid drops goes to the droplet eliminator. After that, the clean gas (air) exits the “TORNADO-ST” to the outside.

Specifications

The specifications depend on the package elements. For each client, we create a project based on a detailed survey about the production site and the nature of the dust and contaminations.
Each filter can optionally be designed in an unconventional fashion, depending on the technical task of the client.

Modifications, Size, and Charts

A modification is a filter variation with a different quantity of modules. Adding modules entails a change in general performance, filtered air volume, size, and other technical specifications .

The Tornado scrubber consists of one or multiple modules.

The recommended performance of a single module is no more than 30000 cfm. In order to increase the performance, it is required to install additional modules (see example in drawing below).

A wet scrubber can optionally be designed with non-typical size depending on the client’s technical task.

Wet Scrubber Design

“TORNADO-ST” entails a vertical column with atomizers inside in several layers for gas irrigation. The irrigation system consists of several stages with nozzles installed inside the “Tornado” scrubber frame. The nozzles are positioned in such a way that the water washes gas from all possible directions. Installed at the top of the machine is a droplet eliminator.

Controlling the Spray Tower Scrubber

Variations of control equipment package elements
  1. Manual control: the most affordable and inexpensive method.
  2. Semiautomatic: control on a temporary relay, preparation of a solution, and manual pouring of the solution.
  3. Automatic, time-based control, or regulated cycle control, determined by the client. Automatic preparation and dosing of the reagent solution.
In the standard package, the wet scrubber is automated at a minimal level – with transmitter level, pump activation, and pH monitoring.
For a higher level of automation, we can offer you:
  • Automatic refilling and discharge of the reagent
  • Automatic reagent preparation
  • Automatic water activation/deactivation
  • Connecting the automatic contact to the controller and pH meter.
