Wet Scrubber Description

Meet the universal industrial wet air cleaning scrubber. The cleaning system is based on mass exchange processing taking place within the neck whole of the Venturi tube. At that location, air accelerates and comes in contact with contamination. The liquid in the tube is broken down into fine or ultrafine droplets (depending on the type of Venturi tube) and the contamination is absorbed by the fine liquid droplets.

Three modifications
Wet scrubbers come with low-pressure, medium-pressure, and high-pressure tubes. The choice is made on a case-by-case basis depending on the client's technical task.
Dust load of up to 20 ppm
To increase the dust load, a cyclone or baghouse will have to be placed in front of the equipment.
Gas load of up to 5 ppm
There can optionally be more, but that will require size to be increased.
High tolerance of fluctuating loads
Stability in maintaining a high level of cleaning, efficiency, and temperature variations over the course of the wet scrubber's operation.
Minimal waste substances
The air cleaning process creates practically no waste. It doesn't get stopped up with a variety of substances. Furthermore, there is almost no water entrainment.

Substances Captured by the Gas Scrubber

Venturi scrubber captures various dusts 0.1 µm in size or larger.
In order to capture smaller elements, we recommend various supplements, such as caustic soda etc. The supplements are selected on a case-by case basis depending on the air and gas mixture in the client's operation environment. Effective for the removal of volatile organic compounds.

The Working Principle of Venturi Scrubber

How does a venturi scrubber work
Gas and dust collection in the Venturi Tube is done via moisture particles settling on dust particles heavier in mass.

During the process of joint movement of hard particles and water droplets, they coagulate, subsequently falling into the inertia type droplets eliminator. To ensure greater contact between the liquid and gas phase, atomizing liquid diffusion is used.

The incoming gas flow containing the contaminant enters a narrowing section and as the crossflow area decreases, the speed goes up. Right in the narrowing section of the venturi scrubber, water is fed into the gas flow via special spraying devices.
As a result of the gas and dust moving at a major speed into the small neck tube, the latter creates significant turbulence. After entering the turbulence created by the gas, the liquid breaks up into a large quantity of very small droplets. The dust within the gas falls on the surface of these droplets.

While passing through the neck tube, the gas mixed with a cloud of small liquid droplets passes into the expanding section of “Venturi”. There the speed of the gas flow decreases, the turbulence reduces, and the small water droplets combine to form larger ones. At the exit, the liquid droplets with dust particles absorbed are separated from the gas flow.

The cleaned smoky gas moves through the Venturi tube from top to bottom. At the top part (the narrowing section of the wet dust collector), gas is watered with an aqueous liquid through special nozzles.

Modifications, Size, and Charts

A modification is a wet scrubber variation with a different quantity of modules. Adding modules entails a change in general performance, filtered air volume, size, and other technical specifications .

The Venturi scrubber consists of one or multiple modules.

The recommended performance of a single module is no more than 70000 cfm. In order to increase the performance, it is required to install additional modules (see example in drawing below).

A filter can optionally be designed with non-typical size depending on the client’s technical task.

Controlling the Wet Scrubber

Variations of control equipment package elements
  1. Manual control: the most affordable and inexpensive method.
  2. Semiautomatic: control on a temporary relay, preparation of a solution, and manual pouring of the solution.
  3. Automatic, time-based control, or regulated cycle control, determined by the client. Automatic preparation and dosing of the reagent solution.
In the standard package, the wet scrubber is automated at a minimal level – with transmitter level, pump activation, and pH monitoring.
For a higher level of automation, we can offer you:
