Tray Scrubber Description

Wet gas cleaner “TYPHOON” tray tower scrubber is one of the most efficient wet scrubbers in the world. The cleaning system is based on mass-exchanging processes in a column with special plates and stabilizers installed in it. A foam layer is created on them where all contaminations settle. It is an excellent choice for cleaning air of dust, smoke and chemical bonds.

Substances Captured by the Gas Scrubber

Tray scrubber captures various dusts 0.1 µm in size or larger.
In order to capture smaller elements, we recommend various supplements, such as caustic soda etc. The supplements are selected on a case-by case basis depending on the air and gas mixture in the client's operation environment.

The Working Principle of Tray Tower Scrubber

How does a TYPHOON Tray Scrubber work
Contaminated air enters the scrubber via the gas inlet flange. After that, it enters into the column with special perforated and stabilizing trays inside. Gas passes through these plates at a special velocity. The plates are constantly irrigated with liquid. At the gas passage and liquid irrigation locations, liquid bubbling is created due to the special velocities. The bubbling creates a foam layer and the contamination settles on the foam walls. After that, the contaminated liquid drains into the lower section of the scrubber, the revolving liquid tank. The liquid again enters the column out of the tank for irrigation and the liquid circulates. The air enters the upper section of the scrubber where a labyrinth droplet eliminator is installed. It impedes the liquid entrainment of the scrubber. After the droplet eliminator, the cleaned air is extracted to the outside of the scrubber.

Specifications

The Specifications depend on the package elements. For each client, we create a project based on a detailed survey about the production site and the nature of the dust and contaminations.
Each wet scrubber can optionally be designed in a non-standard execution, depending on the technical task of the client.

Modifications, Size, and Charts

A modification is a filter variation with a different quantity of modules. Adding modules entails a change in general performance, filtered air volume, size, and other technical specifications .

The tray scrubber consists of one or multiple modules.

The recommended performance of a single module is no more than 29500 cfm. In order to increase the performance, it is required to install additional modules (see example in drawing below).

A filter can be optionally designed with non-typical dimensions, depending on the client’s technical requirements.

Controlling the Tray Scrubber

Variations of control equipment package elements
  1. Manual control: the most affordable and inexpensive method.
  2. Semiautomatic: control on a temporary relay, preparation of a solution, and manual pouring of the solution.
  3. Automatic, time-based control, or regulated cycle control, determined by the client. Automatic preparation and dosing of the reagent solution.
In the standard package, the tray scrubber is automated at a minimal level – with transmitter level, pump activation, and pH monitoring.
For a higher level of automation, we can offer you:
